Act 1, Quest 1: The Falling Star
Diablo 3 begins with your character walking down the road just outside the town of New Tristram. This being an action game, the road is also inhabited by the recently awoken dead. After heading up the road and dispatching your first few zombies, you will reach the town guards, and the Captain of the Guard asks for your help clearing the town’s doorstep of the living dead. Thus begins your epic crusade against evil…
Quest 1: The Fallen Star
Being the first quest in the game, The Fallen Star is understandably a very easy quest. After talking to Captain Rumford, head into town and enter the first explorable building, the Slaughtered Calf Inn. Talk to Leah next to the bar and kill the townsfolk that turn into zombies after your quick chat. Talk to Leah again and then head back out to the town gates to meet up once more with the Captain. While you’re talking, zombies will break through the barrier. Kill these before heading forward into your first wilderness area, Old Tristram Road, a straightforward path on the way to the Old Ruins. The 3 Wretched Mothers for the quest bonus line the road to the Old Ruins, and are easy to find, with small packs of zombies surrounding them.
After dispatching the Wretched Mothers, head down the road which ends at the Old Ruins. The Wretched Queen is found in the middle of the ruins, vomiting in your general direction. Kill the Queen with a few quick hits and then utilize the first waypoint of the game, the Old Ruins Waypoint, to return to town. Talk to the Captain again to complete the quest.
Monsters
- Wretched Mother – A low level monster that resurrects fallen zombies while also shooting acidic vomit from a medium range. May cause trouble if hiding behind a large pack of zombies, but generally are little trouble. Kill these before killing their zombie minions.
- Walking Corpses – A zombie with higher health that refuses to die, staying alive to fight you as a crawling torso after being struck down a first time.
Side Dungeons
- Cellars – Randomly generated, one will contain a small pack of Quill Fiends, with a possible champion leader.
